Doris Athineos, Traditional Home's art and antiques editor
Traditional Home's art and antiques editor Doris Athineos writes about collecting and outstanding collectors who are passionate about paintings and furnishings. Through patronage and purchase, these top collectors shape the visual world around us. She reports on the motives that drive people to collect 50 blazing-red Ferraris, 300 Egon Schiele and Klimt paintings and drawings or 4,000 pieces of costume jewelry.
Most recently, Doris launched a new column with Antiques Roadshow stars Leighand Leslie Keno. "Keno Eye" teaches Traditional Home readers how to recognize and identify design worth collecting, whether a Chippendale chair or a lucite desk.
Prior to joining Traditional Home, Doris served as an editor at Forbes magazine, where she covered the art market. She has written about art, antiques and design for The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Wine Spectator and Art & Auction, among others.
